A Captive Horse's Prayer
Keep me safe...
Don't let me be alone, for we were meant to be in a herd...
Shelter me from the summer sun and the elements of winter,
for even my wild brothers and sisters find this...
Keep my hooves and teeth in good shape so I can eat
and walk without discomfort...
Feed me fresh hay and clean water so I don't get a belly ache,
for if I do, I can't tell you how much it hurts...
Lastly, when my strength is gone, help me reach the end of my journey
without pain and with dignity.
